Here's four videos to show you how to make the Large Savanna Bag. I used the Big Shot Die Cut Machine & the Scallop Square die to cut the fabric.

Thank you for sharing this awesome idea! This bag is super cute and I really like the added touch of the ruffle! For someone who had never really sewn before until Founder's Circle, you've really taken off in terms of what you've been making! I rediscovered sewing a year ago after a 25 year hiatus! I made a diaper bag a year ago and also used the needlepoint plastic for the bottom of it. I actually just covered it with fabric and added it to the inside of the bag after it was done. Can't wait to try making this bag myself!
LOVE IT!!! I just made the rag quilt purse yesterday (I'll send you a pic!) and can't wait to get my hands on this bag!!! I'm like you with the sewing...not the best, but have been doing bits here and there for the last 6 years! I have been making teddy bears and hemming pants and such, not much else...
Oh, the stitch you used to do the ruffle, I believe is called a 'running stitch'!

Hi Hun This is FAB!!!! I will have a go I think, I have a problem with my machine in that it doesn't have any plate to guide the sizing of hems etc so will have to be a little imagineitive.I may just try the purse to start so I think I will have to fine some yummy material love the bright pastels you have used.

Angie, I love the Savannah bag. When you're trying to get the ruffle even, here's a trick from my old "Stretch 'n Sew" Days. Divide both the bag and the ruffle (before you ruffle it)into the same amount of equal spaces; i.e., mark with pins the bag divided into maybe 4 equal parts. Do the same with the ruffle into 4 parts. Gather each section of the ruffle to fit in the space on the bag. Did I say that clear enough?
