New Moon Treat Bags & Purse

New moon treats
The first picture is of the goodies I made for everyone that joined me for New Moon
I think they were a hit :)

Mark your calendars....June 29th, 2010 join me for the release of Eclipse.

Here's a better picture of the Quilted Flowers that went around their bags.  They're made with our Stampin' Up! big shot dies, Flower Folds & the Scallop Circles.  I also used the 1 1/4 Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

The next picture is of the purse I made for this special occasion.  I couldn't resist! I found this darling fabric and I just had to make myself a purse!!

Brown Wrapping Paper

I was going to save this picture for later....but after receiving so many awesome comments and emails I decided to share it today.

My picture is of the gift I covered with the brown wrapping paper & the Figgy Pudding Flower. (Can't find my big roll of brown paper so I dug out a grocery bag and cut it apart).

Here's the picture of the flower before I added it to the box.

I used the Flower Folds Die and the Scallop Circle #2 Die to make the flowers and the Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon matches the Figgy Pudding Fabric. I thought about using the Chocolate but I went with the Olive since it's one of my favorite colors.

Quilted Flowers with the Big Shot

Since I'm new to this quilting thing I'm like a kid in a candy store!!

The fabric & the sound of the sewing machine....it's all so exciting!
It's just so amazing that I can make these all by myself :)

Once you get started I bet you can't make just one.

So far all I've done is make the flowers...the next step is to add the ribbon.  Once I do that they're finished.

You can add these flowers to your bag, presents & even make hair barrettes.

The fabric in the picture below is Figgy Pudding and I bought the charm packet at Quilters Haven in Olathe, Kansas.  Love the terminology....layer cakes and charm packets.

Quilted Flowers & More

Today's one of those days that I feel like a chicken with it's head........

you know (hate to say those words...the visual is just not good).

So, look at this picture and then I'll explain.

Quilt Flowers

When I was at Founders Circle, my most favorite thing was I made friends with several ladies. (Angie I miss you!!!)  Words can't explain how I feel.  I'm so blessed that you all have chosen me to be your demo and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me earn Founders Circle!!  I really hope I earn it every year but if not I'll remember this one fondly!!

Now I'll explain the picture....The Big Shot works with fabric and you can use our Stampin' Up! dies to make all sorts of awesome things.  The flower you see next to the machine uses the Flower Folds die and the center flower is the Circle #2 die.

At Founders Circle my 5th level upline (Jill) showed us how to make those darling quilted flowers. You can add them to your bags, presents or even squares for your quilts.

I've never quilted and I've never used a sewing machine.  But, you know me....I don't see obstacles I see possibilities.

So, I dug Brooke's sewing machine out of her closet.   The machine is a Janome and it doesn't have a walking foot....but again I don't give up when I set my mind on something.

I'm happy to say it worked and tomorrow I'll post a picture of all the flowers I made last night.  I will admit a bigger and better machine would be easier but for now this is free :)

See ya!
