Sewing Desk

A few months back I went into our Bernina Store to pick up something or take a class ......can't remember that far back :) & I saw this desk by the front door.   I can't remember if they ask me if I wanted it or if I said what are you doing with it?   I just knew it had wonderful potential!
I love buying old stuff and painting it and when they offered to let me have it for free I jumped on it!  I was so excited that I went straight to the paint store to get the supplies.
But then.....the summer was a tough one this year and I was stressed out.  I tried sanding it and it was soooo darn hot I was miserable.  So.... Dave took me on pity and ask one of his friends to do it for me.   Boy,  am I glad he did!! I was just going to paint around the hole and make it work.  But look what he did....
Isn't it just beautiful? I'm sure glad Kenny finished it and not me :)  I can't wait to get set up my machine!!

Once I get it positioned in my room I'll show you some more pictures.

See ya later!

Angie, I love the sewing machine desk. It looks absolutely beautiful. What happened to the whole in the center where your machine would go? Anyway, you would never know it was the same cabinet.

Angie your sewing desk is fabulous! We found one over a year ago at an auction for $5 (almost free) and my husband sanded all winter long on it . . . it is natually stained, and very beautiful! But after seeing yours I am thinking on asking him what about some paint? (lol)

Hi Angie, i am running into the issue of smoothing over the top of my new old sewing desk for a computer desk purpose. Can you tell me how this was done or what product was used?? I'd love to know!
Thank you - Nicole
