New Fabric

I've been itching to make something for several weeks and I decided to take a trip to our local Quilt Shop.

Quilters Haven is in Olathe & it's about a ten minute drive for me.
When I was there I overheard a lady asking for her magazine. I wasn't sure what she was talking about..... so I ask....   I'm so glad I did!!  Quilters Haven is showcased in the Spring/Summer 2010 edition of the Quilt Sampler and of course I bought myself a copy and some fabric.

Here's a picture of my new fabric.

I'm not sure how most people buy their fabric but I like mixing it up.   So, I saw this darling stripped fabric and I took it around the store matching the colors as best I could.  The only color I couldn't find was the orange.

Here's the list of fabric starting at the top
  • Farmers Market by Sandi Henderson - Stripey
  • Santorini by Lila Tueller for Moda
  • Wild Thyme by Carolyn Gavin/Lilla Rogers Studio
  • Simply Sweet by Barbara Jones for Quilt Soup for Henry Glass
  • Hunky Dory by Chez for Moda
I'm not sure what I'm going to make with it but I like it!!

The next stack of fabric caught my eye because I love using Chocolate with my purses.

All three of these are Faye Burgos for Marcus Fabrics.

The next stack I looked at it and walked away about a dozen times...I'm not sure what I'm going to make with it but I figured if I didn't buy at least a yard I would get home and it would call my name.
All three are Hunky Dory by Chez Moi for Moda.

I bought the next stack of fabric online about a month ago.  I get an email from the Fat Quarter Shop every Friday when I saw this fabric I had to order it.  It's Verna by Kate Spain for Moda.

My last picture of fabric I bought a few months back from Hancocks of Paducah.  I'm already thinking....nieces and Christmas...I think I could make a cute new bag for them.

This stack of fabric is Frolic by Wendy Slotbloom for In the Beginning.

Since it's been a month or two since I've touched my sewing machine I tried my hand at a new bag last night...I'll share it very soon :)

See ya,

Love the fabric combo's. It's great to see you're into Sewing too.

I really need to get my New Sewing machine out and play with it.

I use to make all my clothes along time ago.

I'll be checking back to see just what cool stuff you're making.
