Fabric Gift Bags

These darling gift bags are just so easy to make!!
The first picture has the flowers that I made using the Big Shot Die Cut Machine with the Flower Layers #3 Die along with the 1-1/4 Old Olive Striped Ribbon.  I used the Playground Buttons on page 181 of our Stampin' Up! catalog for the center of the flower.

The next one I made using the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt (perfect for those of you that would rather not make the flowers with the Big Shot).

If you have some Layer Cakes just waiting for you to make something, this is the perfect project!!

I'll explain how to make the Gift Bag and in a few days I'll have a picture tutorial available to purchase.
If  you're using a Layer Cake, all you need to do is cut off 1-1/2" on one side.  Your fabric will measure 8-1/2 by 10.
On the long side, fold 1/4" down & iron it.  Then you'll sew it, that provides your hem for the top of the bag.  Make sure you keep it clean since it's the top of  your gift bag.
Next....Fold your right sides together and sew it on the side and at the bottom.   Turn bag right side out and you're done making the gift bag :)

To close the Gift Bag, tie your 1-1/4 Striped Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around it.  Whatever flower you decide to use, you can attach them using Fabric Glue.

I can't wait to hear how much you like these Fabric Gift Bags!!

Okay, I'm going to show my sewing ignorance but...what are Layer Cakes?
